Background

I've spent more than ten years in software development, growing from a Junior Programmer at proFound Mining, a UK-based mining software house, to a Software Architect at one of Europe's largest fashion companies. Along the way I've built a solid foundation in full-stack web and desktop development, and a lasting habit of taking ownership of systems from end to end.

I've had the privilege of building software for some great companies along the way. At Coolblue in The Netherlands, I automated purchasing workflows for an e-commerce business serving millions of customers. At BESTSELLER, I joined as a Systems Engineer and later moved into the Architect role on StorM, the company's custom Digital Asset Management system - architecting the platform that manages product images, videos and 3D models across all of its brands.

My day-to-day sits at the intersection of architecture and hands-on engineering: writing C# and .NET backend services, designing cloud-native systems on Azure, and setting the technical direction for the teams around me. Kafka, PostgreSQL, Terraform and Helm, CI/CD and observability are regular parts of my toolbox. Lately I've also been spending a growing amount of time on Generative AI and agentic coding, exploring how they will change the way we build software.

What I enjoy most is the space between business and technology: understanding what a company actually needs, and creating the right conditions for a team to deliver it well. I believe in teams that share knowledge, trust their own judgement, and take pride in what they ship. I'm always up for a good challenge, and I'd love to bring a mix of architectural thinking and hands-on delivery to your next project.
